The standard reference list, ordered by how many real past-year questions each book has actually produced across 749 mapped questions. That ordering is the honest answer to "which book matters most", and it is not the order most booklists give you.

Each book has its own chapter-by-chapter reading guide. Several of these also carry most of a Mains GS paper, which is why the same list serves both exams rather than needing a second one.
