Refund Policy
Free notes, the free question set, and the daily current affairs digest always stay free. This policy only concerns paid membership purchases.
Effective 23 August 2026
The 7-day refund window
If a Civils Notes membership does not work for you, you can request a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided you have accessed fewer than 20% of the member-only question answers and explanations in the practice bank during that time.
We use this threshold, rather than an unconditional no-questions-asked refund, because the practice bank is the paid product itself: once its explanations have been read, the value has already been delivered. Reading a handful of questions to see if the format works for you is exactly what the window is for.
How to request a refund
Email civilsnotes.in@gmail.com with the subject line "Refund request", the email address you signed in with, and your payment reference or receipt if you have it. We will confirm your usage against the 20% threshold and let you know the outcome within 2 business days.
Approved refunds
An approved refund is issued to your original payment method through our payment gateway (Razorpay). It typically reflects within 5 to 7 business days, though your bank or card network may take longer on their end, this part is outside our control.
Failed or duplicate payments
If you were charged more than once for the same membership, or charged but never received access due to a technical error on our end, that is always refunded in full, regardless of usage or the 7-day window. Email us and we will fix it promptly.
Outside the window, or over the usage threshold
Requests made after 7 days, or after 20% or more of member-only content has been accessed, are not eligible for a refund under this policy. This does not affect any right you may separately have under Indian consumer protection law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as membership offerings change, for instance if we move to a pass valid until a specific exam date rather than a fixed term. Any purchase is governed by the policy in effect at the time of that purchase. See also our Terms of Service.
