Read the following passage and answer the item that follows. Your answer to this item should be based on the passage only.
"A statement is not made false merely by being mistaken; the liar and the honestly wrong man both say what is not so, yet only one intends to deceive. It is this intention, not the accuracy of the words themselves, that separates a lie from an honest error. And it is no accident that we trust the habitually truthful far sooner than the merely eloquent, for truthfulness is a habit of intention sustained over time, while eloquence is only a habit of words."
