Medium · Passage: author's main message
Read the following passage and answer the item that follows. Your answer to this item should be based on the passage only.

The quantity is small and will not feed the household through a month. What it does is put a few fresh things within reach on the days when money is short, spread the risk of a supply chain that occasionally fails, and keep alive varieties that no wholesaler stocks because they will not travel. None of this argues against buying food. It argues for treating the small plot as part of how a city eats rather than as a hobby that happens near one.
Which one of the following statements best reflects the most logical and rational message conveyed by the author of the passage?
