UPSC Prelims 2024 · CSAT (Paper 2) · Q62
Medium · Passage: implied message
Read the following passage and answer the item that follows. Your answer to this item should be based on the passage only.
A modern car records far more than its owner imagines. Braking force, cornering speed, the hour at which the engine starts, the route taken and how often the seatbelt warning is ignored are all logged, because each of them is useful to somebody designing the vehicle. Once logged, the same record answers questions nobody had in mind when the sensor was fitted: an insurer's question about driving habits, an employer's about where a vehicle spent an afternoon, a court's about a moment before a collision. The data was gathered for engineering. It does not stay there.
Which one of the following statements best reflects the most logical, rational and practical message implied by the passage?
