'Mangrol' is the third of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWCs) being indigenously designed and constructed by Cochin Shipyard Limited, Kochi, and was delivered to the Indian Navy on 21 August 2026. Built with approximately 80 per cent indigenous content to Det Norske Veritas classification rules, the vessel carries lightweight torpedoes, indigenous ASW rockets and shallow-water sonars for anti-submarine warfare, search-and-rescue and mine-laying operations in coastal waters. It is named after the coastal town of Mangrol in Gujarat's Surat district.
