SWAYAM: free online courses, not hardware or exclusive scholarships

SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is a government online platform that aims to offer citizens affordable and quality education for free, hosting courses spanning school level through postgraduate study. It is specifically a course-delivery platform, not a hardware subsidy scheme handing out subsidised laptops, not a certification programme limited to government employees, and not a scholarship scheme exclusive to engineering students; each of those is a different, unrelated kind of initiative that SWAYAM is sometimes confused with.

Vidyanjali: volunteering people's time and skills, not money or foreign campuses

The Vidyanjali Yojana is genuinely a school volunteer programme, meant to improve the quality of education in government schools by drawing on help from the private sector and the wider community, contributed as time, skills and resources. Two plausible-sounding but incorrect framings are worth ruling out precisely: Vidyanjali has nothing to do with letting foreign educational institutions set up campuses in India, a completely separate policy question, and it is not centred on voluntary monetary contributions toward school infrastructure; its actual design is about volunteering effort and expertise, not writing cheques.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan: higher-education institutions solving local, rural problems

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan links higher education institutions, engineering colleges and universities, with nearby rural communities, so that these institutions can help identify and address local development challenges using appropriate, practical technology and knowledge. It is not an interest-free loan scheme for rural entrepreneurs, not a nationwide skill-development network for urban slums, and not a land records digitisation programme (that is DILRMP's job, covered separately); each is a distinct initiative with its own separate focus, and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan's actual purpose is specifically about connecting institutional expertise to rural, local problem-solving.
