Read the following passage and answer the question that follows. Your answer should be based on the passage only.
Innovation is commonly understood as being willing to fail. Entrepreneurship implies confidence in an idea and a willingness to expose oneself to loss. Confidence in new ventures is the essence of a risk-taking culture; confidence itself becomes a valuable resource in a competitive market and shapes which ventures get funded. Backing new ideas also means holding founders in good regard, and a belief that they are, or will become, capable in their chosen field.
